|
|
Hey guys long time no post from me, but I finally got into tuning the VE today with the Bikirom @ Graham West's
But the day was more interesting then that SO MANY things f$%^ed up today its not funny...
First of all I was meant to be there @ 8am but I slept through my alarm. I get there late ~8:30am and as I'm about to start the car again and drive onto the dyno it won't start! The starter bloody blew! tried to push start it, it didn't work plus I wanted a more permanent solution as you need to turn the car off to upload to Biki anyways.
Had to wait a few hours and drive GW's hire car down to Regency to get a new starter!
A few hours later about 1 - 1:30pm and the car is finally starting and on the dyno and now the Laptop won't boot Bikisoft even though it was fine 2 days ago...
and the USB drivers are f%^&ing up for some unknown reason... it was probably Vista
Anyway a half hour later my inner computer geek solved these problems and we finally got down and dirty tuning , FINALLY
Here's the results! ▼
SR20VE with:
-Bikirom
-2 inch exhaust with fart cannon (maybe get a 2.5 in future)
-Simota POD Filter
-Phenolic Spacers
-GSpec Crank Pulley
-GSpec Water Pump Pulley
-PAR Flywheel
-BKR6EIX-11 Plugs
+ other mods
-17inch Lenso VPD
-Hankook K104 rubber
-GTI-R Bonnet and Black Cheese Grater
-AD22VF Brakes
-DBA Slotted Rotors
So its pretty much stock.
Cams switching both INT & EXH at 4650rpm as it gave the best response on the graph, its running 12.8 AFR's now (tried leaner and it wasn't making any more power) instead of 10.6's which it was before tune :yikes: ...
So much better fuel economy and god damn she pulls like a bull on light throttle now ! Only played with a bit of the timing in the graph, but not much we could have done more but time was running out due to all the f%^& ups. Had a road worker come up when we were done to see what all the noise was, he said he could hear it 3 streets away and it was still loud as hell
With some more tuning + my cam gears that aren't on I think it could get more, about 110kws+ so I'm quite pleased with my results, even though its not even close to what some of you guys are pulling with VE's, it wasn't the coolest day here temperature wise either...
The best thing is it's so much better to drive now!
Oh and here's an experiment I did, ever wondered why the yanks on sr20forum always get higher no's with VE's then us? ▼
They dyno in third, and this netted an extra 7kws atw, not bad:lol:
I think this next picture sums it up best▼
Comments, questions anybody?

i think this definitely demonstrates how important a quality tune can be!

Nothing much, I did originally have big plans for this motor but due to personal reasons this might be as far is it goes
But possibly 2.5" exhaust and a quality header soon, possibly. |
